[ENGLISH - The year is 999]
The year is 999 and doom shall soon follow to this soil of fightful events. The missionary arrives after 2 years of struggle in the vivid world of the flying tongues in the summer at ĂrĂĄndheimr, new home of the king. He tells Ălafr Tryggvason that Iceland is given to the one-eyed wargod of madness. Christ will never walk on that crumbling earth. Ălafr turns frantic, scolds the missionary and takes hostages of the black sand. Ălafr rises his hateful sword. And the descendents of this uncontrollable flock of ĂĂ°inn, shall soon meet the crushing sound of the raven's hunger. Your arms shall be chopped, your legs shall fall, your heads shall fly into the deep depths of the devil's mouth. Your hearts shall be given to Loki's consuming spawn and your sprinkling blood given to VĂgi as he rips off your lacerated testicles. Guts will flow down NiĂ° until your kin's fates are wiped away from God's kingdom of justice and order. Only Gizzur hvĂti and Hjalti are able to cool the king's anger. A cold silence thrones over the king's words. No ship is able to set sail, no messenger arrives at the black shores. In the year 1000, Gizzur and Hjalti set sail with the priest ĂormoĂ°r to lead up north and arrive two weeks before AlĂŸingi at the stormy southern isles, that once were inhabited by revolting slaves from the west. Here, at HÇ«rgaeyrr they build a wooden church on formerly heathen ground, dedicated to holy Clemens. No silence awaits when they ride to the assembly and raise crosses. And the next day, Gizzur hvĂti and Hjalti went to LÇ«gberg, and announced their mission.

I feel like Doctor/Hillbilly is so niche but I really love the ship atm, may I rq some hcs of them mayb? đđ
[oo this is a rarepair if iâve ever sen one! hope you like because i definitely got carried away!]
getting together fluff, some nsfw mentions at the end!
Herman X Max headcanons
Max has always admired the more authoritative killers, like Evan and Herman, while Herman has always mostly ignored Max. Herman is kind of a snob in that he values intelligence above all else, and just brushed Max off as an uneducated, well, hillbilly
Max isnât stupid and is desperate to prove himself to Herman. This causes him to awkwardly approach the older man and request that he âShow Max how to make âem gennies sparkle anâ go boomâ
Herman raises an eyebrow. The kid wants to learn how to overcharge a generator? Itâs not an easy task and took Herman several weeks to perfect. Herman promises to get back to him later, causing a disappointed Max to wander off
Herman writes a numbered step-by-step idiot-proof guide to learning the technique, even throwing in a few rough sketches of the machines in case Max doesnât know what some of the terms mean
When he finds Max and gives him the instructions with a smug grin, Maxâs whole face lights up, until he looks at the papers and his smile drops into a disappointed frown. âIs something the matter?â Herman asks, prepared to give the young man a stern lecture for questioning his hard work. âAh well, this âs mighty fine of ya Her--err, sir! Thanks!â Max drawls nervously before sprinting off with the papers
Herman doesnât see Max for the next few days and assumes the scatter-brained youth gave up on learning altogether. Heâs in the middle of complaining to Philip about Max squandering all his efforts, when Philip points out a crucial fact, âYou know Max canât read, right?â, and Herman feels like smacking himself in the face for not thinking of the possibility sooner
Herman swallows his pride and ventures to Coldwind farm to teach Max his technique the old-fashioned way, expecting to find the young man moping in a corner somewhere or perhaps making stick animals or whatever it is hillbillies do
Instead, he finds Max by the generator in the shed, hunched over and tinkering with the machine with papers scattered about the entire floor. âHiya Herman!â Max greets him enthusiastically, wiping his oily hands on his overalls
âMax, what are you doing? What are these?â Herman questions and glances at the papers
âI did it! Look!â Max exclaims and gives the generator a solid kick, short-circuiting it and causing it to spark violently. âI uhh--I couldnât read ya book, so I lookâd at tha pictures ya drew an looked inside a genny to see wha I was sâposed ta do,â Max explains, gesturing to a pile of papers next to him where heâs--Herman inhales sharply in surprise--drawn pages upon pages of mechanical diagrams of the machines, pinpointing the exact locations the kick will impact!?
Herman is at a loss for words, completely taken aback by the other manâs resourcefulness and technical skill. He sees Max looking at him nervously, clearly awaiting some sort of response from his tutor. âExcellent work, boy. Would you like to accompany me in my next generator experiment?â Herman compliments and Max goes beet red and shuffles his feet awkwardly. âThaâ would be mighty fine, sir.â Max mumbles
Max starts spending a lot of time in Hermanâs office, assisting him with any research that requires a knack for machinery. Herman often visits Maxâs tool shed in the farm, where they test many of his ideas and Max tinkers with the generator to troubleshoot for or fix any failures
Herman, recognizing and impressed by Maxâs potential, demands the younger learn how to read so he can further participate in the research. Max is giddy at the prospect, but after a couple of disastrous attempts Herman admits heâs a lousy teacher and bribes Sally to teach Max by offering the redhead unlimited access to his office
Max is happy and making great progress with his reading, and Herman feels a strange sort of pride for his protege. Thatâs why it takes him completely by surprise when one day, Max decides to kiss him out of the blue. Herman pulls the man off of him and demands answers. âJust what do you think youâre doing!?â he asks sternly. âS-sorry! âS just, me anâ Sally were readinâ them books a-an I thought âs what people do, like them fellas Heathcliff anâ Cathârine--â
âOf course Sally has you read that fictional garbage over the anatomy books I provided,â Herman sighs and runs a hand over his face in exasperation. ââM sorry Herman, Sally said âs what people do when âey luv someâun,â Max explains, shuffling awkwardly. âHold on. Love? Me?â Herman asks, voice uncharacteristically breaking into an even higher octave from the shock. Of all the stupid things--
âYa! I luv ya,â Max says without hesitation, beaming. âAnd you want to kiss... me,â Herman clarifies, trying to wrap his head around this sudden turn of events. âAlready did. Anâ I wanna kiss ya more anâ do naughty things with ya in a hayloft,â Max cheerily remarks. Herman feels his brain short-circuit from the implications coming out of his seemingly innocent apprenticeâs mouth. âCome âun, I ainât dumb, I know wha Evan ân Phil disâpear in tha woods fer,â Max grins with a slight blush.
Hermanâs always been a quick thinker, so he manages to run through all possible outcomes of this scenario in his head. Itâs stupid. He should reject Max. But he canât say that heâs not intrigued, and seeing the kidâs enthusiasm... Herman finally just shakes his head fondly and allows himself to lean into Maxâs personal space. âI know youâre anything but dumb, kid. I also donât think you know what youâre getting yourself into,â he canât suppress a dark chuckle, half expecting the younger to feel intimidated--
âTry me, pops,â Max challenges instead, grinning. âThatâs it you little shit--â Herman has the time to give an idle threat before Maxâs laughing mouth shuts him up with a kiss
Itâs not the most healthy relationship as thereâs a clear power imbalance but Herman is kind of a narcissist and gets off on it. Though he does genuinely care about Max, heâs not gentle and youâll never hear him use the phrase âAre you sure?â
Max loves being praised both inside and outside the bedroom. Herman is stingy with his compliments, only giving them when heâs genuinely impressed, which makes them all the more special to Max
Max has a daddy kink ok I donât make the rules. He doesnât realize it and probably doesnât even know what it means, but Herman is perceptive. When he takes a gander and urges Max to call him âdaddyâ during one of their trysts he doesnât expect it to do much of anything, but hearing his lover cry out the word and almost spill himself makes him realize itâs a control thing and now heâs very much on board
Herman tops at first, but once he sees Maxâs enthusiasm and the younger learns to channel his energy, they fall into a habit of Max topping. Herman discovers himself to be a bit of a power bottom and begrudgingly admits that Max fucks better than him, making Maxâs confidence soar
The other killers quickly find out about their relationship because Max canât shut up about his adoration of Herman. They get some snide comments from the Legion brats and a blushing Amanda threatening Max to âStop oversharing your fucking sex life or Iâll reverse beartrap your dickâ, but nobody seems to really care what they do behind closed doors--with the exception of one
Evan is pissed, being somewhat of a father figure to Max and 1000% ready to bash in Hermanâs skull for seemingly taking advantage of the younger, impressionable man. Max is upset a the accusations, Herman pretends to give a shit about Evanâs opinion because of Max, and eventually Philip and Sally have to get involved to calm Evan down, vouching for Hermanâs non-sinister intentions and Maxâs ability to make his own decisions
[i came up with maxâs personality on the fly but i kind of love him now?? also i donât know how old herman is but i always hc max as early twenties at most so have some age difference on the side]

The Virtue of Silence
Word Count: 1163
Warnings: None
Summary: Junkrat sets a world record by nearly ruining Valentineâs Day two entire weeks before it begins, and Ruby learns thereâs just as much risk as there is reward to dating an unhinged convict with a bad case of never shutting up.
Ok so I wanted this to be a comic but I was too tired and it woulda taken too long and some other third excuse, so hereâs a fic instead! I was going for a more light-hearted and silly tone, and while I donât think I quite succeeded, I still had fun. I was also trying to write something less than 1000 words, but uh... I think itâs pretty clear I didnât manage that. *looks off into the sun wistfully* Maybe some day...
Ruby plopped down on the couch, a bowl of spaghetti in one hand and the television remote in the other; usually she would be dining at the table across from her boyfriend, but Junkrat was out on yet another one of his heists. If she remembered correctly, he and his partner-in-crime Roadhog had ventured to Paris, but that was, unfortunately, all she knew. It was unusual for Junkrat not to share all the details of his latest schemes with her, and even though Roadhog had reassured her that he would be keeping the reckless Aussie safe, she still felt uneasy about not knowing exactly what kind of trouble the two would be getting into.
She flicked on the TV before tossing the remote aside and picking up her fork, twirling up a clump of spaghetti as a series of commercials played until at last, the program she wanted began.
âTonight, on A Moment in CrimeâŠâ
Ruby knew that this particular show tended to keep up-to-date on criminal events, so if Junkrat and Roadhog had already finished their heist, sheâd be sure to hear about it here. Sure enough, their mugshots appeared on screen, and Ruby perked her head up as she shoveled a forkful of spaghetti into her mouth.
The overdramatic narrator continued, âThese notorious criminals have spread destruction and mayhem across the globe, but could the pyromaniac known as Junkrat⊠have his own romantic flame?â
Ruby froze mid-chew, her eyes going wide and spaghetti dangling from her mouth as she focused intently on the TV, praying that this story wouldnât be going where she thought it might be. The screen changed to a video- with the unstable quality making it clear that it was recorded on a phone- that showed the two Junkers together at the outdoor seating of a cafe, with Junkrat in plain view and Roadhog sitting with his back to whoever was recording. Junkrat was mid-ramble about something, and as the audio cut in and Ruby heard his far-too familiar voice, she felt her blood run cold.
â-dâya think, Hoggie? I just know that Roobs is gonna love this place!â Junkrat spoke far too loudly, not even noticing that he was being recorded. âItâs a bit posh fâme, but sheâs been goinâ on about doinâ somethinâ special fer that whole Valee-Day thing, so I think Iâm alright riskinâ looking like a tall poppy, long as I can get me girl ta smile!â
The audio lowered, and the narrator spoke over the video. âThis footage, uploaded just hours ago, was taken at a shop outside the Cabaret Luna in Paris. The explosives-obsessed Junker seems to be discussing plans for a supposed date with an unknown person whom he refers to as âRubesâ. The criminal goes on to talk about methods of traveling to the city of love with this mysterious person, before the brave witness who uploaded the video is noticed. Viewers should be warned that the following footage may be frightening to some.âÂ
The audio of Junkratâs voice came back in. â-wish I could be up on the bird-boat with her, but Iâm pretty sure Iâve made it on the no-fly list by now, heheh, so I guess we could just meet up here.â As he kept rambling, his eyes wandered towards the recorder until he made eye contact with the camera. He had to do a double-take before he finally noticed that he and Roadhog were being filmed, and the cheery grin on his face quickly turned into an angered scowl as he stood up in his chair and stomped his boot onto the table with his fists raised. âOi, the fuck dâya think youâre doinâ, mate?!â Junkrat quickly reached down for his frag launcher, which was placed beside the chair he had previously been sitting in.
The video became incomprehensibly shaky as the person recording began to flee, repeating âmerdeâ between panicked breaths as Junkrat shouted for them to âget the hell back hereâ, and the video stopped just as an explosion went off behind the recorder. The screen freeze-framed on the last second of footage and slowly zoomed in to create a dramatic effect as the narrator spoke up again. âThe uploader luckily managed to escape by running into a neighboring store, but the footage they posted gives us a startling view into the personal life of these violent criminals.â The show cut back to a still shot of Junkrat from the video just presented as the narrator continued, âIs it possible that this wanted convict is actually involved in a romantic relationship? Is there someone out there insane enough to partner themselves with a pyromaniac like Junkrat? Or is this simply the delusional ramblings of a madman?â
The show cut back to Junkrat and Roadhogâs mugshots. âAs always, if you have any information about these two dangerous men, or any knowledge of the unknown person, again, referred to as âRubesâ in this video, please contact us today. Remember, crime doesnât pay, but we-â
Ruby had to shut off the television before she could hear more. She stared forward blankly, her spaghetti weakly hanging from her pursed lips as she processed what she had just seen. She didnât even have the energy to bite down, as all her brainpower was immediately going into panicking as hard as she could. She wondered if this was how omnics felt when they short-circuited; her mind was just piling one bad thought on top of another, leading to a never-ending wave of fear washing over her. Damn that man and his big mouthâŠ
***
âOh, Roooobs!â Junkrat shouted as he burst through the front door to Rubyâs apartment, throwing down his frag gun and the sack of stolen goods in his hand as he held his arms out expectantly, waiting for his girlfriend to run from around the corner and jump right into his arms as she had always done before. Instead, he saw her slowly move out from the kitchen with her arms crossed as she leaned her shoulder against the wall.
âWelcome back, Jamison,â Ruby spoke in an alarmingly calm tone with a nearly unreadable, but clearly unhappy expression.
Junkrat immediately broke into a cold sweat at the use of his full name as Ruby stared him down. âErâŠâ he put his arms down just a bit, âi-is there somethinâ wrong, sweets?â
Ruby simply glared at him harder, making him panic and hunch down as he looked at the floor and nervously rubbed his hand. What the hell had he done? Did he forget to say goodbye before he left? Had he eaten the last of one of her favorite snacks and put the empty box back? Did he leave the toilet seat up?
âSo,â Ruby said, âyou go to any nice cafes while you were in Paris?â
Junkrat snapped his head back up as his eyes went wide. âHow did you know?âÂ
Ruby rubbed her face and sighed. âJamie, my dear. We need to discuss the importance of thinking before you speakâŠâ

India played 2nd innings with more composure. KL Rahul started with a bang with almost run a ball 36. He was dismissed by Stokes. India 60-0. This was the first time since 1986 that Indian team had 50+ opening partnership in both the innings of a test. Dhawan was good till he went slogging. He was stumped by Rashid. India 111-2. Both Indian openers had chance to make big score but missed the opportunity. Kohli joined Pujara. Things started getting much better for India. bOth brought up fifties. They were hardly troubled. Pujara was dropped later but made a gritty 81. He also could have scored a century but perished to Stokes. He and Kohli had 113 run stand. Kohli rushed to 90s, got lucky when he was dropped by Jennings on 93. He eventually made his century. He was dismissed soon after by Woakes for a brilliant 103. Like first test, he made 200 runs in a test. Hope results will be in favor of India this time. Pandya then hit some lusty blows to take Indiaâs lead past 500. India eventually declared at 352-7. England needed 521 to win. 189 overs were left in the match. England negotiated 9 overs in Day 3 with ease. On Day 4, Ishant started on fire as he dismissed Jennings in very first over and Cook 2 overs later. England 32-2. Pope and Root were shaky but lasted 13 odd overs before Bumrah got the better or Root. Rahul caught it brilliantly in slip. In very next over, Shami dismissed Pope. England 62-4. England looked done and dusted. Had Pant caught Butler, it could have been 65-5. Pant moved wrong direction too quickly and couldnât grab a tough chance. As it happens most of the times, batsman made India pay for it. He and Stokes looked hardly troubled there after. England reached lunch at 84-4. Post lunch, Kohli over bowled Bumrah and Ashwin. They looked ineffective. They reached tea at 174-4. Â Shami was getting reverse swing but England batsman negotiated it well. Of first 68 overs, Kohli just gave 6 obvers to Pandya who grabbed 5 Â fer in first innings. It is a shocker. He over bowled Ishant and Bumrah. This is something which Dhoni used to do. Cant understand the logic when captains do such crazy things. Last time when Kohli had scored a century and a 90 odd was in Wanderers. He had century stand in 2nd innings with Pujara there too. ABD and Du Plessis almost won the match chasing 430 odd. Wil history repeat itself? Â India badly needed a breakthrough and there was hardly any sign of it. India never win a test with comfort. They always make it hard for themselves which is what was happening now? Can England end day at say 300-4? Match could take an interesting turn if it happens. Â They took England past 200 and even had 150 plus stand. Butler brought up his maiden test century in the process. Kohli looked worried and frustrated. When captain shows that, wheels start coming off? One bowler had to take stand and create magic ball. India waited for new ball. Butler didnât offer stroke to Bumrah in cutter. He was plumb in front. As it happens most of times, one wicket follows another. Bairstow was castled of the very next ball. Woakes hit a boundary of hatrick ball. But Bumrah got the better of him in his next over. Woakes was out to short ball again. In next over Pandya dismissed Stokes with a beauty. England were reduced to 241-8 from 231-4. Bumrah dismissed Rashid in his next over but it turned out to be a no ball. Bumrah had a few nightmares with no ball but this was not that critical as India were firm favorites to win and Rashid was no top order batsman. Rashid hit a few lusty blows to frustrate Indian team further. Surprisingly, Bumrah never tried his special Yorkers on Rashid. Kohli dropped Rashid of Shamiâs bowling. Â They even had 50 run stand. Bumrah eventually grabbed his 5th wicket as he dismissed Broad. Rahul caught his 7th catch for the match(same as Pant). Rashid and Anderson survived remaining overs of the day. England ended day 4 at 311-9. Had Bumrah not bowled that no ball, India could have won by now. Instead, India need to come on final day to take final wicket. Â This was the first match in test history that all top 5 batsman have scored in double digit in all 4 innings.
In Cincinnati Open, Djokovic had lost 5 times in the finals and 3 times to his 2018 opponent Federer. Djokovic got the better of him this time winning it 6-4. Djokovic won the first set with only 1 break of serve. Â In 2nd set, Federer took 2-0 lead only to be broken back immediately. Â Djokovic won the set 6-4 and the match. He thereby became the only player to win all 9 masters 1000 series titles. Djokovic is back and would be hot favorite for this yearâs US open.
Day 2 belonged to Vinesh Phogat who became Indiaâs first women wrestler to win gold in Asian games. In Rio Olympics , Vinesh had got injured against Chinaâs Sun Yanan in QF. She faced the same opponent in pre QF in Asian games. She dominated the match to win it. In QF and SF, she just lost 2 points. In finals she outclassed Japan's Yuki Irie 6-2 to win the 50kg final in Jakarta and was then hoisted on the shoulders of team staff draped in the Indian flag. Other wrestlers like Pooja and Sakshi disappointed as they reached SF but lost Bronze match. Deepak Kumar won the silver medal in menâs 10m air rifle event after producing excellent scores at crucial junctures. Deepak shot 247.7 to finish second on the podium behind Chinaâs Haoran Yang, who won the top prize with a Games record 249.1 at the JSC Shooting Range of this port city.
16 year Saurabh Chaudhary who created world record in 10 m Air Pistol event in Junior world cup recently outclassed former Asian and Olympic medalist 42 year old Matsuda from japan. Sandeep had score of 240.7 as against 239.7 by Matsuda. Â Abhishek Verma grabbed Bronze. Sanjeev Rajput, 37, looked set for the gold before having a modest standing series in the 50 3 positions rifles final. It was the first individual medal for the former Navy man at the Asian Games, having won team medals in the previous three editions. Indian team won bronze in sepaktakraw which was a pleasant surprise. India's wrestler Divya Kakran wins bronze medal in women's freestyle 68kg defeating Chinese Taipei's Chen Wenling 10-0. India beat Thailand 49-3 vs Thailand in Kabaddi. They are assured of SF spot. Santosh Kumar and Sanda are assured of Bronze medal in Wushu as they reach SF. Rohan Bopanna reached QF in both mens doubles (Divij Sharan) and mixed doubles(Ankita Rani). Indian mens and womens team were knocked out in team badminton event in QF by Japan and Indonesia respectively. This came as a huge disappointment. Â Indian mens hockey team beat Indonesia 17-0.Indian womens team went a step ahead and beat Kazakhstan 21-0.

Hever Castle jousting tournaments are taking place during most weekends over the summer holidays, the children will love seeing real life knights on their horses!
The Look Out Discovery Centre at Bracknell has a Dino Show on until September as well as the hands on science exhibition and play areas so a day can easily be spent here!
